The Discovery Sports Center has developed a very strong relationship with one of the top field hockey organizations in the state, Champions of Tomorrow. Since coming on last fall, they have already developed various camps, clinics, leagues, and tournaments that are attracting the interest of young players from across the state.

Jenna Siegel was the top goal scorer on the first-ever BCC state champion field hockey team. A Washington Post All-Met pick, she went on to play for the nationally ranked University of Maryland squad, and was chosen among the top players in the country to attend B-camp. Siegel took over the Quince Orchard field hockey and lacrosse teams in 1998. She has led the Cougars field hockey team to an impressive 50-10-4 record, and has won the Regional Championship in each of her four years. Most recently, the Cougars won their first MD 4A State Championship. Siegel has been named coach of the year by the Journal, Gazette and Washington Post.
Amy Wood has coached the record-breaking Bethesda Chevy Chase field hockey team since 1993. She has led the Barons to a national-record eight straight Maryland State titles, earning a 140-10-4 record. Among other awards, Wood has been named National Field Hockey Coaches Association South Region Coach of the Year, five-time Gazette Coach of the Year, and Washington Post All-Met Coach of the Year. Wood was a member of the No.1-ranked University of Connecticut hockey team and still plays for the Washington Shredders Hockey Club.
