Leadership Montgomery SELECTS Kim Walter for the 2024 EMERGING LEADERS Program

 

Rockville, MD July 14, 2023– The Maryland Soccer Foundation today announced that Kim Walter, Senior Event Manager, has been selected to participate in the 2024 Emerging Leaders (EL) program of  Leadership Montgomery (LM).

 

Kim Walter is currently serving as the Senior Event Manager at the Maryland Soccer Foundation, Kimberly oversees the planning and execution of youth tournaments, professional matches, and collegiate championships. She has previously worked as a Site Coordinator at Elite Tournaments and as Match Day Event and Operations Staff at D.C. United. Kimberly’s passion for community service is reflected in her volunteer work with organizations like CONCACAF and Alpha Phi Omega. Kim graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Management and Psychology and holds a certification in Risk Management for After School Activities and Interscholastic Athletics from the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security.

 

“Kim is a valuable part of the SoccerPlex team who continually takes on a more advanced role in the organization.  She is integral to the success of the organization and will be a leader in the field as she progresses in her career,” said Matt Libber CORE’22, the Executive Director of the Maryland SoccerPlex.

LM, a Montgomery County-based community leadership organization, fosters cross-sector collaboration to address complex county issues through its programs and offerings. Beginning in September, class participants will attend sessions to build their leadership and prepare them to build thriving and inclusive communities in Montgomery County and beyond.

“LM is thrilled to convene such a diverse group of leaders to participate in the leadership programs,” said Dana Pauley, President, and CEO of Leadership Montgomery. “By gathering cross-sector leaders to advance thinking around current regional issues, they can examine challenges and solutions from multiple perspectives.

The EL program is designed for professionals looking to develop and grow their leadership capabilities, enhance their knowledge of Montgomery County, and build their network.  Along with the EL program, LM offers additional leadership programs, training and consulting, corporate engagement, and alumni engagement offerings.
