Tessa Alegre: Writer, Adult Soccer League Community

Tessa is an adult league player in the coed division at the Maryland SoccerPlex, mom of a beautiful 2.5-year-old girl, and wife of an amazing husband. Although she discovered her love for soccer as an adult, she spent her life in athletics. She was a competitive dancer for 10 years, and has been horseback riding since the age of 8.

Outside of the field, Tessa is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Family Science and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nonfiction Writing at Johns Hopkins University. She is a coauthor of the University of Maryland’s Family Science curriculum textbook, Violence in Families over the Lifespan, and is working on her manuscript, Reentry Reinvented.

As a writer for the Plex, her goal is to showcase the stories behind the teams, players, captains, referees, and staff who help create the inclusive and incredible atmosphere of this community.
