The Maryland SoccerPlex is a 24 field complex that welcomes more than 1.6 million visitors a year. Opened in 2000, the Maryland SoccerPlex was built with a public-private partnership between the Maryland Soccer Foundation and the Maryland National-Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC). The SoccerPlex dream was also completed with the help of local clubs: Montgomery Soccer Inc. (MSI), Bethesda Soccer Club, Damascus Soccer Club, Potomac Soccer Club, and the Washington International Soccer League. We have been a home field for DC United (MLS), Washington Freedom (WPSL), Washington Spirit (NWSL), Maryland Bobcats (NISA), and Old Glory DC (Major League Rugby). Since 2022, the Maryland SoccerPlex has been home to the Big East Conference Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships. Through the years the SoccerPlex has been the host of numerous neutral site NCAA soccer and lacrosse matches, ACC Championships, temporarily home for American University, University of Maryland, and Georgetown University men’s and women’s soccer teams. The SoccerPlex is also a two-time host of the USYS National Championship, and numerous youth sports tournaments from a variety of sports.
Our 24 fields are professionally maintained and have been nationally recognized numerous times throughout our history. Of the 24 fields, 8 are Kentucky Bluegrass (cool-season grass), 11 are Bermudagrass (warm-season grass), 2 are hybrid cool season and warm season, and 3 are synthetic turf. Fields are set up in pods of 2-5 fields and a parking lot to help with congestion and each pod has a permanent bathroom structure located nearby the fields. The fields can be set up in multiple configurations for different age groups and sports. There are 6 fields including the stadium that have lights.
